Welcome to the 12th Annual #1 Pet Contest. Here's a chance for all of our furry friends to face off!
The contest is easy to enter. Click on the the "enter your pet" link above and complete the short registration form and upload your photo. Please make sure you upload a great looking photo as it will be in the paper and included in the 2016 #1 Pet Calendar. There is an entry fee of $10 per photo. Only one pet per photo is allowed but you can enter as many photos as you like. The deadline to enter your pet's photo is March 11, 2015 at 5 p.m. If you have any questions, just give us a call at 973-383-1047.
All pets will be featured in the Sunday, March 15, issue of the New Jersey Sunday Herald. Readers can then vote for their favorite pet. Entry blanks will be published in The New Jersey Herald and fans can also vote by visiting www.njherald.com/PetContest. There is a cost of .25 cents per vote.
Round one voting will end on April 8, 2015. The TOP 20 vote-getters will be published in the April 12, 2015 New Jersey Sunday Herald. During this round readers will vote for who they think should be the #1 Pet! The last day to vote is April 28 by 5 p.m. The winner will be announced in the New Jersey Sunday Herald on May 3!

Proceeds from this contest and the sale of items will benefit Newspapers in Education. Each year hundreds of teachers in Sussex County request The New Jersey Herald as a "living textbook" for their classroom.
